Artists are encouraged to return to this site frequently to obtain information and advice on business aspects of their career and to help see themselves as emerging professionals. Art Whats On

Created by 10 group, this is a portal to artists sites, exhibitions and galleries. Artists can pay to promote their work on this site. 10 group also produce marketing material for artists including media releases, invitations and advertising as part of their 'Exhibition Essentials' package for a fee.

Artbank

Artbank is a fully self-funding art rental program run by the Australian Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts that was established in 1980 to reinvest its revenues back into Australian art and culture. Artbank builds its collection by acquiring works through current exhibitions at commercial galleries, contemporary art spaces, artist organisations and artists' studios throughout Australia. Artbank welcomes invitations and regular updates from your gallery or from artists directly. Artists can also send a proposal of their artworks to Artbank at any time.

Arts Hub

This site displays jobs and other opportunities in the arts Australia wide, and provides arts industry news. Information about employment opportunities and industry news is delivered both via the web site and email bulletins.

Arts Law Centre of Australia

Arts Law gives preliminary advice and information to artists and arts organisations across all artforms on a wide range of arts related legal and business matters including contracts, copyright, business names and structures, defamation, insurance and employment. Sample arts contracts can be downloaded on this site.

Artworkers Alliance

Artworkers was established in 1986 to address the professional and financial concerns of visual artists. Based in Brisbane it offers a comprehensive range of services to promote professional development and facilitate employment opportunities for artists and artworkers including an art leasing service.

Fuel4artists

fuel4artists.com is the leading arts marketing reference for artists internationally and is the sister site to fuel4arts. This free knowledge base is an online community with 5303 members from 82 countries. fuel4artists acts as a filter, sifting through the leading arts marketing resources from around the world to profile only those of most relevance and practical application to individual visual arts and crafts practitioners.

National Association for the Visual Arts

NAVA is the peak body representing the professional interests of the Australian visual arts and craft sector through advocacy, representation and service provision. This site provides information about NAVA, its grants, products, services and membership and a range or arts resources.

Regional Arts NSW

Regional Arts NSW is the peak body for the arts and community cultural development in regional, rural and remote New South Wales. Regional Arts NSW delivers a range of programs, grants and services. Information about grants programs is available on this site.

Art Almanac

Art Almanac is guide to Australia's art galleries - a monthly magazine listing art galleries, museums, dealers, artists, exhibitions, prizes and visual arts events Australia-wide. Exhibition and gallery listings can also be viewed online.

Art and Australia

Aside from being Australia's most well respected and established quaterly arts publication, A&A also offer several opportuntities for emerging artists. This includes the ANZ Private Bank Emerging Artists Program, a unique initiative that features emerging artists on the back cover of Art & Australia from 2004 onwards. Work by the selected emerging artists is on display at the Art & Australia Project Space, open by appointment. Art & Australia and NOISE are also collaborating to launch an new annual project profiling standout young Australian artists aged 25 years or younger. The top 25 young artists' work will be published in 25/25 - a mini-magazine, which will be distributed nationally by NOISE and also appear inside the Winter 2006 issue of Art & Australia.

Art Sydney 06

As part of the Art Sydney 06 Fair in Sydney, emerging artists can apply to be included in 'Off the wall' exhibition at the fair. OFF THE WALL is an independent exhibition space at Art Sydney 06 giving unrepresented and emerging painters, photographers and sculptors the chance to get valuable media exposure as an artist and the opportunity to sell and display works to the public during the four day show to be held at Royal Hall of Industries, Fox Studios from June 22 to 25. Showcasing 20 of the most promising artists, OFF THE WALL is set to become one of the highlights of Art Sydney 06.

artnet is an international gallery network online and is the largest of its kind, with over 1,000 galleries in 250 international cities, and 25,000 artists from around the globe. The site is used to buy and sell art, features a survey of the art market and its pricing trends, produces artnet EMagazine, with daily news and reviews by renowned writers in the art community. Artnet also features a Price Database the most comprehensive color illustrated archive of fine art auction results worldwide.

Sydney Art on Paper Fair

Sydney Art on Paper Fair offers opportuntities for emerging artists to apply to exhibit as part of the 'Fresh: Emerging Artists' stand.The Print Council of Australia, which promotes all forms of contemporary works on paper and publishes IMPRINT magazine donates a special Encouragement Award of $1,000 in support of Sydney Art on Paper Fair’s FRESH exhibition initiative, and its encouragement of emerging artists and their work in the context of an international art fair.

Asialink

Providing opportunities for Australian artists, performers, writers and arts managers to live and work in the Asian region. Asialink's Residency Program offers residencies in Visual Arts and Crafts Performing Arts, Arts Management and Literature.

AUSTRADE

Austrade offers practical advice, market intelligence and ongoing support (including financial) to Australian businesses looking to develop international markets. The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is the Australian Government's principal financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters. It supports a wide range of industry sectors including the arts industry. The scheme is administered by Austrade and is aimed at encouraging small and medium sized Australian businesses to develop export markets by reimbursing up to 50 per cent of export promotion expenses above $15,000 incurred in the previous financial year (first-time applicants can combine expenses from the last two years to meet this threshold).

Australian Business Arts Foundation

AbaF promotes private sector arts support. ABAF programs aim to connect business, the arts, donors and volunteers through three programs: Partnering, Volunteering and Giving.

Ian Potter Foundation

The Ian Potter Foundation make grants for general charitable purposes in Australia. Our areas of interest are the arts, education, environment and conservation, health, social welfare, science and medical research. We also have a small travel grants program.

Philanthropy Australia

Samstag Scholarships

Applications are invited for the Anne & Gordon Samstag Visual Arts Scholarships. The scholarship is inclusive of a generous stipend, return airfares and institutional study fees.

The Myer Foundation

The Myer Foundation works to build a fair, just, creative and caring society by supporting initiatives that promote positive change in Australia, and in relation to its regional setting.
